Connecting Gaming and Entertainment Devices to Aggie_Guest Wi-Fi

This guide explains how to register and connect gaming consoles, Smart TVs, Roku devices, and other entertainment devices to the Aggie_Guest wireless network.

Before You Begin

  • Locate your device’s MAC address (found in network settings)
  • Connect a phone or laptop to Aggie_Pride
  • Open the NCAT Registration Portal using that device

Register Your Device

  1. Sign in with your NCAT email and password
  2. Review and accept the Acceptable Use Policy
  3. Click Add
  4. Enter your device’s MAC address:
    • Use the Wireless MAC for Wi-Fi
    • Use the Wired MAC for Ethernet
  5. Add a description using this format:
    username Building Room Device
    Example: jdoe Scott Hall 211 PS5
  6. Click Submit
  7. Ensure the device status shows Approved
Tip: A MAC address looks like this: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E

Connect Your Device to Aggie_Guest

Gaming Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch)

  1. Power on the console
  2. Open Network Settings
  3. Select Aggie_Guest
  4. Connect to the network
  5. If prompted, complete additional steps using a phone or laptop

Smart TVs

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Network then Wi-Fi
  3. Choose Aggie_Guest
  4. Enter credentials if prompted
  5. Use a phone or laptop to complete registration if needed

Roku Devices

  1. Start setup
  2. Select Aggie_Guest
  3. Connect to the network
  4. If prompted to open a browser, complete registration on a phone or laptop

Troubleshooting

  • Forget the network and reconnect
  • Restart your device
  • Make sure your device is registered and shows as Approved
  • If your device does not have a browser, use a phone or laptop to complete registration
