This guide explains how to register and connect gaming consoles, Smart TVs, Roku devices, and other entertainment devices to the Aggie_Guest wireless network.
Before You Begin
- Locate your device’s MAC address (found in network settings)
- Connect a phone or laptop to Aggie_Pride
- Open the NCAT Registration Portal using that device
Register Your Device
- Sign in with your NCAT email and password
- Review and accept the Acceptable Use Policy
- Click Add
- Enter your device’s MAC address:
- Use the Wireless MAC for Wi-Fi
- Use the Wired MAC for Ethernet
- Add a description using this format:
username Building Room Device
Example: jdoe Scott Hall 211 PS5
- Click Submit
- Ensure the device status shows Approved
Tip: A MAC address looks like this: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E
Connect Your Device to Aggie_Guest
Gaming Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch)
- Power on the console
- Open Network Settings
- Select Aggie_Guest
- Connect to the network
- If prompted, complete additional steps using a phone or laptop
Smart TVs
- Go to Settings
- Select Network then Wi-Fi
- Choose Aggie_Guest
- Enter credentials if prompted
- Use a phone or laptop to complete registration if needed
Roku Devices
- Start setup
- Select Aggie_Guest
- Connect to the network
- If prompted to open a browser, complete registration on a phone or laptop
Troubleshooting
- Forget the network and reconnect
- Restart your device
- Make sure your device is registered and shows as Approved
- If your device does not have a browser, use a phone or laptop to complete registration
