Overview
Each residential hall room includes a dedicated Wireless Access Point (AP) for reliable internet access.
Students can achieve optimal performance by connecting directly to the AP's Ethernet port. A wired Ethernet connection is recommended for gaming, streaming, online learning, and other high-bandwidth or latency-sensitive activities.
How to Connect via Ethernet
On the right side of the AP installed on your wall, you will find additional network ports.
Locate the wall-mounted Access Point in your room.
Supported Ethernet Ports
Use only the following ports for wired connections:
A standard Ethernet (RJ‑45) cable may be connected directly to either port.
Close-up: Connect your cable to the ETH2 or ETH3 ports.

Desktop computers

Important Note for Mac Users
Most modern Apple MacBooks do not include a built-in Ethernet port.
To connect a MacBook to the wired network:
- A USB-C to Ethernet Adapter (sometimes called a “Dongle”) is required.
- After connecting the adapter to the MacBook, plug an Ethernet cable into ETH2 or ETH3 on the AP.
IMPORTANT USAGE RESTRICTIONS
Please do not unplug the AP or
Do not remove the AP from the wall.
If the AP appears damaged, loose, or missing, please report it to IT Support.
